According to Foresight News, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York has announced the arrest of Rui-Siang Lin, the operator of the dark web drug marketplace, Incognito Market. The arrest took place on May 18th. Lin is set to face trial in the Manhattan Federal Court under a U.S. magistrate judge.
Lin is accused of selling illegal narcotics, including fentanyl, in the form of cryptocurrency, with a value exceeding $100 million. The case highlights the ongoing issue of illicit activities conducted through the dark web, often facilitated by the anonymity provided by cryptocurrencies.
