According to ChainCatcher, Latin American e-commerce giant Mercado Libre showed in its first quarter 2024 filing that it holds more than $40 million in cryptocurrencies, including 412.7 Bitcoins and 3,041.6 Ethereums. However, its chief information officer Richard Cathcart clarified that Mercado Libre does not actually own these assets and the company has liquidated its cryptocurrencies in 2023. This document reflects the purchase, holding and selling services they provide to users, not the company's own holdings.
