According to ChainCatcher, the Cyber Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office in South Korea has recovered the deleted e-wallet of a fraud defendant and seized Ethereum worth 7.6 billion won (about 5.6 million US dollars).
Prosecutors said that programmer An stole 14.6 billion won (about 14.6 million U.S. dollars) in investment funds from 156 victims between January and February 2019 by claiming that the tokens he developed would be listed on exchanges. In June of the same year, An was also accused of transferring 1,796 Ethereum to his personal crypto wallet, which was purchased by the gaming platform company he worked for to operate a cryptocurrency exchange.
