According to Foresight News, Essential, an intent-focused development project, has introduced the ERC-7739 draft, a standard specification for supporting universal intent in smart contract wallets. This allows users to add their intent to account abstract wallets, where the user's intent is signed as a message and then ultimately verified on-chain through a separate transaction. These signed messages are then propagated in their own memory pools.

The goal of this specification is not to focus on how to accurately process, structure, or manage off-chain intent, but rather to create a framework for smart contract wallets to integrate and automatically support various possibilities defined by the signed intent itself. As new intent use cases emerge, the framework should also allow for seamless and permissionless upgrades and code extension processes.
