According to Foresight News, Btrust, a non-profit organization supporting the development of Bitcoin in Africa and India, backed by former Twitter CEO and Block CEO Jack Dorsey and rapper Jay-Z, has acquired African Bitcoin talent company Qala. The deal was completed on September 1, and Qala has been renamed Btrust Builders Programme.

Longe and Qala project manager Stephanie Titcombe will join Btrust, serving as project leaders for Btrust Builders. The program is shifting its focus towards open-source training and inviting senior software developers from Africa to participate in the development of Bitcoin and the Lightning Network.
