The Ripple team plans to work more actively for the growth of XRPL throughout 2025. Ripple CTO David Schwartz stated that work is being done on programmability, lending protocols, and new dApp support on XRPL.

Ripple, as one of the largest cryptocurrency companies in the US, has experienced a significant rise with recent developments. With the influence of the new administration in the US, especially Trump's positive views on the crypto world, Ripple has provided a great area of movement. Ripple has experienced significant increases in its price with this opportunity. In addition, XRP Community Day 2025 events continue to introduce the global influence and power of the XRP Ledger. 250,000 listeners from 50 different countries came together at these events and it was emphasized that XRPL can grow rapidly.

Speaking at the event, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said the following about 2024: “I think 2024 is going to be a monumental year for a number of reasons. The recent US elections had an impact on crypto regulation, and that reset an uneven playing field. As a result of this change, we’ve seen a significant increase in the market cap of XRP.”

XRP Ledger’s AMM system surpassed $1 billion in trading volume, while the RLUSD token was launched on both the XRPL and Ethereum networks. HSBC confirmed XRPL’s institutional credibility by adopting Ripple Custody. Furthermore, Ondo Finance’s introduction of tokenized US bonds on XRPL showed that XRPL offers a solid alternative to regulated financial products.

US Residence
The event was particularly focused on regulatory developments. Ripple’s General Counsel Stu Alderoty stated that Ripple is recognized not only as a leader, but also as a thought leader. He expressed his belief that practical laws and regulations that will enable the crypto industry to thrive will be determined by the new administration and policymakers. “The US could become the crypto capital of the world,” Alderoty said.

The session also covered the interoperability of the XRP Ledger network with other networks. David Schwartz provided insight into how XRPL’s EVM sidechain and bridges from Axelar, Cosmos, Peersyst, XRPL Labs, and Sologenic are facilitating developers’ multi-chain applications. The growth potential in the DeFi space was also highlighted.

APAC Session
Focusing on XRPL’s development in Asia, this session shared hopes for Ripple’s global growth strategies. Ripple President Monica Long emphasized the rapid growth of the crypto market and Ripple’s role in driving institutional adoption: “When I joined Ripple in 2013, the crypto market was smaller than $2 billion. Now we are 1,000 times that. We are seeing a huge explosion of opportunity as serious financial institutions enter the blockchain space.”

Long noted that they see a huge opportunity for stablecoins and said, “The next wave of growth will come from the utility space where RLUSD has been operating successfully.”

Ripple CTO David Schwartz announced that XRPL will work on programmability, lending protocols, and new dApp support in its 2025 roadmap. Ripple looks set to have an exciting year in terms of building its own ecosystem.
