➡️ The United States GDP grew 2.3% in the fourth quarter of 2024, considering the adjusted annual rate. The indicator came in below the expectation, which was 2.7%, and the result of the third quarter, when it rose 3.1%.

➡️ The core consumer expenditures (PCE) price index, which excludes food and energy prices, increased at an annualized rate of 2.5% in the fourth quarter, accelerating from the 2.2% gain in the previous quarter, according to an initial estimate from the country's Department of Commerce, released this Thursday, the 30th.

The PCE is the preferred inflation measure of the Federal Reserve (Fed, the North American central bank).

➡️ The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week, pointing to a low number of layoffs, although job opportunities are becoming scarce for those who are out of work.

Initial claims for unemployment benefits fell by 16,000 to 207,000. Economists had forecast 220,000 claims for the latest week.
