Golden Finance reported that according to data from blockchain security and analysis company Certik, nearly US$2.4 billion was stolen from cryptocurrency hackers this year alone. The third quarter was the most hacked quarter of the year, with 184 known hacks resulting in the theft of nearly $700 million during the same period. According to the report, more losses were caused by hackers in the third quarter alone than in the first and second quarters combined. Compared with last year’s total of over US$3.5 billion, it has dropped by 31.43%. According to SlowMist statistics, as of 2023, there have been 450 confirmed hacking incidents, among which decentralized protocols on Ethereum and BNB smart chains are the most common attack targets.
