Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a set of techniques, models, and skills that focus on improving people's quality of life. NLP is based on three concepts:
Neuro
Refers to the neurological processes underlying behaviors, thoughts, ideas, and physiological responses.
Linguistic
Refers to language, which allows for organizing thoughts and communicating with others.
Programming
Refers to the ways of organizing ideas and actions to achieve results.
NLP focuses on how the mind interprets the world through language and how these patterns affect behavior and emotions. The goal of NLP is to improve communication, learning, and personal development.
Some of the objectives of NLP are: Individual understanding and self-analysis, Overcoming mental blocks, Acquiring new skills to solve problems, Improving internal and external communication, Adaptability.
John Grinder and Richard Bandler were the creators of NLP in the 1970s.
