New code fuels rumors that the launch of X payments may be near.

The rumors come two days after X's CEO, Linda Yaccarino, confirmed that the social media platform would launch X Money in 2025.

An apparent leak of the latest software code behind Elon Musk's X has sparked rumors that “X Money” — the name of its payment system — could launch "at any moment."

X Money would allow X users to tip content creators on the platform, and some speculate that cryptocurrencies could play a role, given Musk's prior interest in Bitcoin $BTC and Dogecoin $DOGE in his other businesses.

"X payments, in one way or another, will support cryptocurrencies," explained Finn in a self-managed space on X, adding that it is the fastest way to move money.

“Cryptocurrencies will likely be an important part of the rails for [X] payments.”
