One of the Manipulative Tactics of a Marketmakers.

An example of the crowd (in this case, short sellers) being squeezed by the market maker — one of their favorite tricks. The price is pushed to the highs, and with an insanely negative funding rate, they don’t even need to push the price higher anymore; just holding it there will force short sellers to close their positions.
