Professor Carol Alexander of the University of Sussex in the UK believes that a Bitcoin price of $200,000 is possible. Carol Alexander noted, "I am more optimistic about 2025 than ever before," adding that Bitcoin’s price "could easily reach $200,000, but there is no sign that volatility will decrease." Alexander clarified that she does not actually own any Bitcoin herself. "By next summer, I expect its trading price to fluctuate around $150,000 with a $50,000 variation." Supportive regulation in the U.S. will boost Bitcoin, however, the lack of regulation for cryptocurrency exchanges will continue to lead to volatility, as high-leverage trading will cause price fluctuations.
It is reported that Carol Alexander has a good track record in predicting Bitcoin prices; last year she believed Bitcoin would reach $100,000 in 2024, and that has indeed been the case. (CNBC)
