Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin and analyst Michaël van de Poppe expect the start of the altcoin season in early 2025. Buterin is confident that Bitcoin's dominance has peaked, and in the coming months, altcoins will begin to grow faster than BTC.
Currently, the price of Ethereum in relation to Bitcoin is 0.035 BTC, declining since the end of 2021. However, van de Poppe predicts that in January 2025, ETH will surpass the 0.04 BTC mark and continue to strengthen. The last time such a price was recorded was in December 2021 when ETH was around $4000.
The analyst believes that investors will start transferring capital from Bitcoin to Ethereum, which will act as a catalyst for the growth of altcoins. To reach the level of 0.04 BTC with the Bitcoin price unchanged, Ethereum will need to grow by 14%, which corresponds to a price of around $3852. During a bull rally, its price could increase to $6000.
