Vitalik's response to the zoo and the director's content in full Chinese version!
Dear Director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo,
I sincerely thank you and your team for the hospitality you provided during my visit last month; that warmth and sincerity remain etched in my memory.
Your selfless dedication to animal welfare, the profound impact on education and community outreach, and the joyful atmosphere created by visitors and staff all deeply impress me. I am especially looking forward to the enhancements you plan for the zoo, particularly the upgrade of the hippo habitat.
In the past few months, I have had the honor of experiencing the warm hospitality of Thailand and its people alongside the global Ethereum community. We have held events in several cities in Thailand and successfully hosted DevconSEA in Bangkok in November. The success of all this is inseparable from the kindness and enthusiasm of the Thai people and the efforts of our Thai organizers.
Therefore, on behalf of the entire Ethereum ecosystem, I extend my sincerest gratitude to Thailand and offer a token of friendship to express our deep respect for Thailand.
What gift could be better than one for Moo Deng?
This unexpectedly beloved celebrity in Thailand and even on the international stage — an even better embodiment.
What about our gratitude? MooDeng not only brings joy to everyone, but also shows us the miracle of life and the beautiful vision of harmony between humanity and nature.
More importantly, we hope to support her companions, including Kha Moo and other lovely members, as well as her home in the human world — Khao Kheow Open Zoo.
I am honored to accept your invitation to become the adoptive father on Moo Deng's growth journey and to donate no less than 10 million Thai Baht to the zoo in her name. This is both a wish for her next two to three years, accompanying her every step towards adulthood, and a commitment to our shared future.
I deeply look forward to seeing Moo Deng thrive and prosper, and in her company, witness our family and community prosper together due to her growth. Her future is closely linked to our future, and every step of her growth is a tribute to the infinite possibilities of life.
Hereby confirm: I, Vitalik Buterin, hereby express my willingness to contribute funds to support the operations of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, the wildlife adoption program, and the development page for a dedicated exhibition for Moo Deng and her companions.
I will donate two amounts of 5,000,000 Thai Baht (five million Thai Baht) each. The first donation will be made on December 26, 2024.
The date of the second donation and any additional amounts will be announced later, but no later than one year from December 26, 2024.
Donation method: Check payable to Khao Kheow Open Zoo Wildlife Adoption Program. In the case of donation, I authorize Khao Kheow Open Zoo to use the funds for the specified purpose above until further notice. This donation is made without any conditions or restrictions.
May Moo Deng's life journey shine as brilliantly as the dawn, and may her growth become a bridge connecting nature and humanity, the individual and the collective, witnessing our shared future becoming increasingly beautiful.
