Trump has mentioned establishing a federal Bitcoin reserve. How realistic is this proposal?

Honestly, I am very skeptical that the idea of using cryptocurrency as a strategic reserve asset will gain widespread support, and I don’t even believe it’s a good idea. If I were a Bitcoin supporter, the last thing I would want to see is the government controlling a large amount of Bitcoin. Of course, Trump may be a supporter now, but what will happen if the next government is not? They could easily decide to sell a large amount of Bitcoin on the market, which could lead to a price crash and chaos.
While some may view this as the government recognizing the importance of Bitcoin, I think it misses the point. The true value of Bitcoin is not in reaching specific price targets so that people can sell it for quick profits; it lies in creating an alternative financial system.
The idea of locking a large amount of Bitcoin in the hands of the U.S. government does not align with this vision. There is too much volatility and political risk involved, so I believe this is not a wise move.
