According to Daniela Lima, the AGU is preparing a letter to the Central Bank. The Attorney General's Office is gathering information to formally sue the platform for the error and understand how, on a closed market day, the quote presented is higher than the one recorded at the market's close on December 23.
“The work of the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) aims to combat misinformation about economic data of great relevance to Brazilian society. Recently, information from unknown sources about the real exchange rate of the dollar was again published on the Google platform. The Ptax exchange rate is the official exchange rate in Brazil, and was not defined this Wednesday by the Central Bank due to the holiday,” said the head of the AGU, Jorge Messias.
