Information about the XRP lawsuit for those who don't know. The lawsuit has been ongoing for a while, no need to worry 🤣
In December 2020, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) sued Ripple Labs, alleging that the company raised $1.3 billion through the sale of XRP as an unregistered security.

In a ruling on July 13, 2023, Judge Analisa Torres determined that the sale of XRP to institutional investors violated securities laws, while sales to individual investors on exchanges did not violate the law.

As of August 7, 2024, the court ordered Ripple to pay a fine of $125 million and prohibited future violations of securities laws.

However, the SEC appealed this ruling in October 2024, continuing to argue about the classification of XRP as a security.
