Bitcoin has now fallen back to around 98,000, and many people say it's a painful drop. However, such a pullback is still considered normal. What worries me more is the altcoins. Bitcoin is still at a high level, but if altcoins drop further, what will happen?
In the worst-case scenario, Bitcoin has absolute support at 90,000, and ETH has support at the 3,000 mark. For those with leverage, be cautious. Although Powell's market crash caught everyone off guard, I believe that on January 20, when Trump is inaugurated, there should be a wave of market activity. Therefore, I see this pullback as a necessary consolidation before another rise. There are still 30 days left, which provides ample time for the market to consolidate and recover.
At this stage, if your position is not heavy, you can use a strategy of buying more on big drops, buying less on small drops, and not buying at all when there's no drop to gradually pick up low-priced chips.
Currently, the overall market state is that Bitcoin and Ethereum have support from spot ETFs and large capital behind them, with more buying pressure below. However, most altcoins lack the support of large capital, and once they drop, there are no support levels. It mainly depends on market sentiment.
Therefore, at this time, it is essential to manage your positions well. There are also some techniques for executing strategies:
1. Altcoins ranked in the top 50 (market cap over 1 billion) are generally safe to buy, and there shouldn't be much of an issue. When the altcoin bull market comes, it’s just a matter of how much you can earn.
2. Beyond that, for altcoins ranked in the top 300 (market cap over 100 million), it really tests your selection skills. Choosing wrong could mean missing out on the entire altcoin bull market, while choosing right could bring significant profits.
3. The most important thing is not to open futures contracts, not to use leverage, and to only buy spot. Even in a raging bull market, using more than 3x leverage is basically a risky move.
If you are optimistic about the market, hold on; if you are not, then run. These are all correct actions. The only wrong action is to chase highs and sell lows. We can only, and we all need to, be responsible for our own accounts.
