"Reminiscences of a Stock Operator":
Too many traders have had similar experiences, leading to the conclusion that in a market with narrowing volatility, if the market does not show a clear direction and only fluctuates within a narrow range, predicting the next big movement as up or down is pointless.
At this time, what you need to do is observe the market, study the price action, determine how large the directionless fluctuation range is, and make the decision to refrain from acting impulsively until the price breaks out above or below the boundaries.
Speculators must think about how to make money from the market, rather than stubbornly insisting that the market should align with their judgments.
Never argue with the market, nor let the market give you reasons or explanations.
"Hindsight is 20/20" will not make you money.
