Historically, Bitcoin has been viewed as tied to macroeconomic conditions, dollar levels and the stock market, even despite its position as an inflation hedge or alternative to gold. However, this year we are seeing changes: from the beginning of the year until July, there was a consistent decline in the price of Bitcoin, when it increased at times when other assets fell, then followed a turn in late summer when the price froze below the $30,000 mark. There has been a noticeable drop in correlation recently as the price of Bitcoin rose above the $40K mark. However, it is unclear whether this trend will continue as stock indexes such as the Nasdaq 100 continue to reach all-time highs.
