Shock Prediction: Bitcoin to Hit $200K by 2025

Standard Chartered Bullishly Predicts Bitcoin Value on Institutional Flows and Future Regulations

Shock Prediction: Bitcoin to Hit 200.000 by 2025

Geoff Kendrick, global head of digital asset research at Standard Chartered, says Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) could hit $200,000 by the end of 2025.

What Happened

A research note from Kendrick published Thursday suggests that Bitcoin’s recent rally, which has surpassed the $100,000 mark, is being driven primarily by institutional investors.

These investors are increasingly attracted to spot Bitcoin ETFs, while MicroStrategy, a firm focused on Bitcoin development, has been rapidly acquiring the asset.

Kendrick expects institutional flows to continue at or above the current pace through 2025. He also suggests that President-elect Donald Trump’s regulatory changes could potentially amplify these flows.

“In 2025, we expect institutional flows to continue at or above the pace of 2024. Against this backdrop, we believe our late-2025 Bitcoin price target around the $200,000 level is attainable,” he said in the post.

MicroStrategy’s aggressive Bitcoin acquisition strategy, which includes a $42 billion plan to purchase Bitcoin over the next three years using equity and debt, is progressing ahead of schedule, according to Kendrick.

According to a report from Decrypt, the firm’s Bitcoin holdings, currently valued at over $40.5 billion, have increased by 150,000 Bitcoins since Election Day, marking a surge of over $15 billion.

Kendrick also expects pension funds to increase their Bitcoin allocations to spot Bitcoin ETFs in 2025. If U.S. pension funds or global sovereign wealth funds also increase their allocations, Standard Chartered’s bullish stance on the price of Bitcoin could deepen further.

Despite a recent dip, the price of Bitcoin remains above $100,000, fueling optimism among some analysts about the cryptocurrency’s near-term prospects.
