On the 14th, the South Korean National Assembly passed the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol with a vote of 204 in favor, 85 against, and 3 abstentions.
Yoon Suk-yeol will be suspended from the presidency while awaiting a ruling from the Constitutional Court.
The Constitutional Court is expected to complete the trial proceedings within 180 days, and if the impeachment motion is upheld, Yoon Suk-yeol will be removed from office, with South Korea potentially holding elections between April and June of next year.
