In 2024, Solana topped the ranking of the most popular blockchains among developers

According to information from Electric Capital, there is a significant growth in the number of blockchain projects in the Solana ecosystem — up 83% compared to the previous year.

In July, Solana surpassed Ethereum for the first time since 2016 in the number of new startups. The Solana ecosystem now has 7,625 teams, which is almost 1,000 more than in the Ethereum network.

This growth in popularity is due to a number of factors: low transaction fees, high network throughput, and support for meme coins, which attract retail investors.

Despite a slight decrease in the number of developers, Ethereum continues to be the leader among blockchains. It is followed by Solana and L2 solutions such as Base, Arbitrum, and Optimism.
