Musk's lawyer accuses SEC of improper actions, demanding disclosure of the source of instructions
Musk posted on platform X stating, 'Gary, how can you treat me like this?' along with a screenshot of his lawyer's email to Gary Gensler.
The content in the image shows that Quinn Emanuel law firm, representing Musk, sent an email to SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, harshly criticizing the SEC for conducting improper investigations against Musk and his associated companies.
Additionally, SEC staff issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Musk the day before, demanding he accept a settlement or face multiple charges, claiming this action was taken based on superior orders. This demand is a continuation of the SEC's persistent 'harassment' of Musk over the years and mentions that the SEC recently summoned Musk's lawyer to testify, even threatening to send a subpoena officer.
At the same time, the letter mentioned that the SEC has restarted its investigation into Musk's company Neuralink, indicating that the SEC's actions have exceeded the scope of seeking the truth and are instead targeted actions based on 'improper motives.' The letter demands clarification on the source of the instructions, questioning whether it was directed by the SEC chairman himself or by the White House.
Finally, the lawyer warned that these tactics and flawed strategies would not be effective threats and stated that they reserve the right to take further legal action.
EigenLayer releases ELIP-002 proposal: Introducing a penalty mechanism
EigenLayer publishes the second EigenLayer Improvement Proposal (ELIP-002) on platform X: Penalty Mechanism (Slashing). This ELIP proposal introduces a penalty mechanism (Slashing) for the EigenLayer protocol to enhance crypto-economic commitments and provide tools for AVS (Active Verification Services) to innovate and reward high-quality service operators.
The penalty mechanism designed in the proposal integrates two new concepts proposed by Eigen Labs: Unique Stake and Operator Sets, allowing AVS to penalize operators who fail to fulfill commitments (such as computational errors or activity issues). Unique Stake ensures that each AVS exclusively has specific punishable stakes.
BlackRock executives: Currently focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, rather than launching new altcoin ETFs
Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas posted on social media stating, "BlackRock's U.S. thematic and active ETF head Jay Jacobs mentioned at the 'ETFs in Depth' conference: 'Our exploration of Bitcoin, especially Ethereum, is just the tip of the iceberg. Only a handful of clients hold (IBIT and ETHA), so our current focus is on this area, rather than launching new altcoin ETFs.'"
Texas Republican representative submits a bill to establish a Bitcoin strategic reserve
Texas Republican representative Giovanni Capriglione announced a proposal to establish a Bitcoin strategic reserve, which will serve as a pilot for the U.S. Treasury. The proposed bill will enable the state to begin establishing a strategic Bitcoin reserve, receiving taxes, fees, and donations in Bitcoin, which will be held for at least five years. The bill aims to provide a way to enhance national financial stability and make it a leader in Bitcoin innovation.
Capriglione stated that the greatest enemy of our investments may be inflation, creating a strategic Bitcoin reserve and investing in Bitcoin would be a win-win for the nation. I have just submitted the bill titled 'Establishing a Bitcoin Reserve within the Texas Treasury and Government Entities Managing Cryptocurrency.' Texas is not only the second-largest state by economic size in the U.S. but also the area with the highest concentration of Bitcoin miners in the country.
