According to Foresight News, as reported by (Ukrainian Truth), Ukraine will legalize cryptocurrencies in the first quarter of 2025, but it is unlikely to offer tax exemptions. Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, stated: 'Regarding cryptocurrencies, the parliamentary working group is completing a first reading of a draft law. I believe the text developed in cooperation with the National Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be ready after the New Year. Our goal is to legalize cryptocurrencies through this law and achieve this in the first quarter of 2025.'

Hetmantsev also stated that 'cryptocurrencies will not be tax-exempt, the form of taxation will mimic securities, taxing profits when assets are converted to currency. After discussions with European experts and the IMF, we have taken a very cautious approach to the use of cryptocurrencies for tax exemption, as this could exacerbate tax evasion in traditional markets.'
