Good day. Why don’t I use futures? I’ll say right away: the purpose of my story is not to impose my opinion on anyone, but simply to share my own view on this issue.

‼️ The story reflects the author's personal opinion and is informational in nature and does not constitute a call to any actions ‼️

Firstly, futures, in my opinion, contradict the essence of real trading. In real trading, futures are essentially the same as binary options and forex, just with slightly different conditions. In binary options, you bet on which way the price will go over a certain period — up or down. This is similar to forex and futures. However, in futures and forex, there is an advantage: you can set a stop-loss and take-profit. But real trading implies buying an asset with the expectation that it will increase in value after some time. Futures, however, are a contract on a bet, and essentially, you are not buying anything.

Secondly, let's be honest, on futures, as well as on forex and binary options, earnings come at the expense of other market players' losses. Example: you from Ukraine bet on the growth of Bitcoin (long), while someone on the other side of the world, say in Australia, bets on its decline (short). If the price goes up, you will take the profit, while the other person will likely lose. At best, their losses will be minimal if they set a short stop loss for safe trade termination, but still, they will end up in the pocket of the winning market player, especially since trading with leverage adds even more excitement and further contradicts real trading. Whereas in the spot market, earnings occur from selling an asset that you bought by selling it to someone else, essentially the same business as buy-sell, while in futures and forex, you are taking the money from the losing market player, which at least smells like a casino.

Conclusion:

Spot is the safest option for the long term, it is ideal; the main advantage is that if you bought at the peak and then the price dropped, you can always wait for the price to recover sooner or later (for example, as was the recent market drop on December 10, those who didn't panic-sell their assets and waited for recovery didn’t lose anything).

Futures are more profitable but also more dangerous; it’s purely where a market player takes a contract on a bet and earns at the expense of other players' losses, essentially a casino.
