But the world is unpredictable; ETH then significantly dropped back to 3500 USD, and I was filled with regret and anger, simply because I missed the chance to sell at the 4000 USD high and make an additional 500 USD. The same 3500 USD price now felt completely different. In reality, the inherent appreciation potential of ETH had not changed; it still had the possibility of hitting 5000 USD or even higher. The only thing that changed was the investor's own mindset.
If one cannot adjust their mindset in a timely manner, they often fall into two dilemmas in the field of cryptocurrency investment. On one hand, when the upward trend continues, due to the shock of a pullback, one may prematurely choose to take profit and exit during the subsequent price rise due to fear, thus missing out on even greater profits. On the other hand, once the upward trend has indeed ended, one may stubbornly cling to the previously high price point, hoping to sell at that price again. As the price of the currency continues to decline, not only will previous profits evaporate, but there may also be a risk of losing principal.
Therefore, maintaining the right mindset is crucial during the cryptocurrency investment journey. One must not overly cling to the elusive peak, but rather make investment decisions based on rational market expectations. If one assesses that the market's upward trend will continue, they can confidently hold onto their cryptocurrency and remain calm during price pullbacks, as pullbacks are often just brief pauses during an upward journey, with a high probability of resuming the rise thereafter. Conversely, if one determines that the trend has indeed ended, they should decisively sell and not fall into unrealistic fantasies, waiting in vain for the price to return to previous highs.
