As the US-China trade war looms, the WTO Director-General made a mistake and placed her hopes on middle powers
Recently, the news that the US government is pushing for a new round of semiconductor sanctions against China has aroused discussions from many parties. It has to be said that Biden and Trump’s attitudes on many things are almost worlds apart, but their attitudes towards China are surprisingly consistent. It is certain that once Trump sits firmly in the White House, a new round of trade war will likely break out between China and the United States.
This is not my groundless speculation. The World Trade Organization, also known as the WTO, also believes that a new round of trade war may break out between China and the United States. By then, the world's multilateral trade mechanism will face a wave of severe challenges.
