The Oasis Network is about to get a whole lot better!
The engineers at #Oasis are excited to announce Eden, a monumental upcoming upgrade from #Mainnet to the Oasis Network. Following the successful Testnet upgrade in October, Eden marks the preparation of the latest Oasis Core 23.0 for Mainnet. This new release brings a multitude of feature updates, technical optimizations, and general improvements to improve the performance, resiliency, and overall security of Oasis Network.

“Under the Rose”: Inside Oasis Core 23.0
Everyone in the Oasis ecosystem should understand what changes with the Eden update.
First, why “Eden”?
Naming this major network update points directly to Oasis' central motif in some notable ways. The idea of an Eden evokes the idea of pristine beauty and natural perfection in both secular culture and most Abrahamic religions.
In other words, it is a kind of “oasis” of security and comfort in a difficult world. This garden-like trope also extends to the name given to the native Oasis Network token.
Throughout much of human history, roses connote a sense of secrecy, security, confidentiality and trust. From ancient mythology to medieval symbolism, roses have a rich tradition of denoting confidentiality.
Previous Oasis updates also follow this naming convention, as long-time members of the Oasis ecosystem will remember. These names include Cobalt, Damascus (see more), and more.
In the all-digital landscape of Web3, the naming conventions for the Oasis ecosystem are intended to perpetuate these historically significant values and ideals along with the rose theming convention as cryptocurrency enthusiasts come together to rebuild a global Internet that prioritize the protection of personal information.

Delegates will be able to vote on on-chain governance proposals.
On-chain governance will include voting on changes to network parameters (e.g. staking reward schedule).
Execution on the same block (i.e. #ParaTimes ) can obtain the latest consensus state without delay.
Instant ParaTime updates, meaning no mandatory epoch downtime for confidential ParaTimes updates.
Stateful and ephemeral key rotations help mitigate the effects of compromised key manager nodes.
General ParaTime performance and robustness improvements.
State synchronization via Oasis Node's enhanced P2P stack allowing immediate synchronization of new Oasis nodes.
#nodos have the ability to distribute ParaTime packages automatically.
Start an Oasis node upgrade
Reviewing this post is a great first step in preparing to participate in the Mainnet upgrade.
All validators, developers, participants and any other network participants are also invited to navigate to the network documentation and familiarize themselves with both the protocol changes and the upgrade process. Readers can also run the Oasis Node binary and prepare a migrated configuration file.
