However, don't be discouraged! China also has its highlights in the AI field. Baidu proposed important AI laws as early as 2017 and released globally leading AI products. What we lack are 1. policy support; for instance, in autonomous driving, as soon as the U.S. relaxes its policies, orders surge, while we are restricted; 2. top talent; half of the world's AI experts are in the U.S., while we only have a bit over 10%.
Now, the competition between China and the U.S. in AI is intensifying. With Trump launching AI plans, we cannot fall behind either.
