Marathon Digital, the largest Bitcoin mining operator in North America, said it is expanding its operations to Paraguay by tapping renewable energy, Wu said. The company said it has formed a joint venture with infrastructure company Penguin Infrastructure to launch a Bitcoin mining operation near Paraguay’s landmark Itaipu Dam, which has an installed hydroelectric capacity of 14 gigawatts. Additionally, Marathon ended October with an achieved hash rate of 17.63 EH/s.
