Recently, I discovered a very simple way to calm the mind: mindful scripture transcription. By consistently transcribing a brief Heart Sutra every morning, one can gain ample energy.

Let me tell you how I do it:

1. Before starting, you can brew a cup of tea. I like Lichuan Red, which opens the five senses through taste.

2. Play quiet Zen music and light an incense stick to create a small energy field.

3. Slow down the pace; a Heart Sutra is just enough for one page, no more, no less. Hold the pen mindfully, fully immersed in writing, silently reciting as you transcribe.

4. It's okay to have distracting thoughts; just feel them without judging or interfering, allowing them to come and go naturally.

5. The scripture has a magical power. Transcribing it feels like dynamic meditation; the body relaxes and may resonate with the text.

6. After finishing the transcription, do not rush to end it. Take 3-5 deep breaths, sit quietly for a while listening to music, and feel the subtle changes in your body and mind before and after the transcription.

Mindful scripture transcription, experiencing tea with the five senses, sitting quietly and adjusting breath is a simple and effective way to calm the mind, which is very beneficial and brings lasting and profound tranquility to both body and mind! I recommend you try it.
