Lido co-founders Konstantin Lomashuk and Vasiliy Shapovalov are preparing a blockchain identity verification platform called 'Y', which aims to compete with Sam Altman's World Network. Unlike World Network's method of using iris scanning for verification, the 'Y' project will be based on users' social media and blockchain activity data, combined with Ethereum Attestation Service to verify user identities. This approach aims to address the risks of biometric data leakage and minimize the potential for fraud. The Ethereum Attestation Service (EAS) is an open-source infrastructure public good for certifying anything on-chain or off-chain, providing the technical foundation and support for the 'Y' project. In this way, the 'Y' project offers a verification method that does not rely on biometric data, but instead uses the traces left by users on the internet to confirm their human identity, thereby reducing fraud while protecting privacy.
