According to Foresight News, Bloomberg reported that Larry Harmon, an Ohio man, was sentenced to more than three years in prison for assisting criminals in laundering more than $300 million in Bitcoin drug money. Harmon once operated the Bitcoin mixer Helix on the dark web, helping hundreds of drug dealers evade tracking. Despite the seriousness of his behavior, the judge gave Harmon leniency because he assisted the United States in prosecuting other cryptocurrency cases. Harmon was confiscated $311 million and fined $60 million by the U.S. Treasury Department.
