After Billy Markus, co-founder of Dogecoin, shared how the community could change DOGE’s inflation rate by editing the source code and convincing the community to approve it.

Elon Musk responded, saying that DOGE’s fixed inflation model is a “feature, not a bug.” Musk said that this model makes DOGE suitable as a payment currency because it is lower in value and more accessible than Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Currently, Dogecoin has no limit on its supply, with 10,000 new DOGE created every minute. Over time, the inflation rate will decrease as the total supply increases.
