According to BlockBeats, on November 13, Decrypt reported that after a year of investigation, the U.S. Department of Justice has filed a civil forfeiture lawsuit to seize approximately $16 million worth of cryptocurrencies held in Binance accounts. These tokens are allegedly related to bribes authorized by SBF. The value of these assets has more than doubled since the initial transfer, which may complicate law enforcement's recovery efforts.

The account holds tokens including Internet Computer (ICP), Avalanche (AVAX), Ripple (XRP), Cardano (ADA), and Solana (SOL), with more than half of the holdings in SOL, valued at approximately $8.5 million.

The case stems from an incident in November 2021 in which SBF allegedly directed the transfer of $40 million from an Alameda Research wallet to pay bribes. The funds were tracked through multiple private wallets and ultimately landed in a Binance deposit wallet.
