Cardano (ADA) launches Node 10.11, marking an important step towards decentralized governance.

On November 1, Intersect MBO, a member organization led by Cardano, officially announced Node 10.11, the first mainnet version to support the inter-epoch upgrade Chang #2. This upgrade marks the transition of the network from the initial technical launch phase to a fully on-chain governance model.

The evolutionary process of Cardano's governance continues with Chang #2.

Node 10.11 integrates multiple features aimed at enhancing governance within the Cardano ecosystem. Stake Pool Operators (SPOs) can now delegate their votes to preset options, and Delegated Representatives (DReps) have been given the feature of automatic white voting. This update also improves the ledger, command line interface (CLI), API, and network code of Cardano, creating a stronger foundation for governance and user interaction.

Intersect emphasizes that the Chang #2 upgrade completes the transition of Cardano to a fully on-chain governance model, continuing from the initial launch model of the first Chang upgrade. This transition allows ADA holders, from after the Chang #1 update on September 1, to delegate governance responsibilities to DReps or self-represent, becoming more actively involved in the network's decision-making process.

According to the new framework of Chang #2, ADA holders must delegate to a DRep to withdraw staking rewards, although rewards will still accumulate regardless of delegation status. Withdrawal of rewards can only occur after delegating to a DRep or choosing the options for automatic white voting or distrust. This encourages active participation in Cardano's governance structure as it moves closer to its decentralized vision.

"After the success of the hard fork Chang #2, decisions on the Cardano blockchain will be shaped and voted through a fully decentralized governance model, as outlined in CIP-1694," Intersect stated.

Meanwhile, as Cardano enters this new phase, founder Charles Hoskinson has interacted with the community in a special way. Following some recent public criticisms, Hoskinson conducted a poll on X with the question: 'Is Charles Hoskinson the cancer of Cardano?'

As of now, the voting results lean towards no, with 56.3% of votes being 'No' and 43.7% being 'Yes'. However, the poll has generated mixed reactions within the community. Some prominent ADA supporters have defended Hoskinson and argued that the poll results may be influenced by bots or external factors.

With 5 days remaining, this poll reflects the diverse opinions of the community regarding Hoskinson's role and influence in Cardano.
