According to analyst Willy Woo, altcoin cycles will continue in the crypto market, but returns will decrease as the market grows and matures. On X (formerly Twitter), Woo noted that altcoin seasons have been losing strength since the 2017 bubble.
Whenever Bitcoin rises, there is often a wave of investment into mid- and small-cap altcoins as investors look for higher returns. Currently, Bitcoin's dominance rate is at 59.31%, close to 60% - a level that many analysts believe will trigger capital flows into altcoins.
However, Woo cautions that altcoins should only be invested in the short term and require in-depth knowledge, as long-term holding is like “playing in a casino” where “the house will eventually win.” He also notes that market capitalization typically only counts successful coins, not failed tokens.
Hashkey Capital experts believe that the altcoin season could return when Bitcoin hits $80,000, opening up expectations for a new bull run.
