Upbit Lists PEPE, BONK, and BRETT After Only Two Years of Trading History
Meme tokens may be hot, but getting listed on centralized exchanges is still a tricky process. When it comes to Upbit, listing may be a form of testing the token for slightly higher credibility.
As one of South Korea’s leading markets, Upbit could give new assets a boost after listing. However, the market has been relatively conservative in expanding its selection. Upbit still lists hundreds of altcoins and tokens from previous bull markets, but has been cautious even on leading meme tokens.
Upbit listed BONK after demand surged, with trading beginning on October 22. PEPE and BRETT were listed after only two years of trading history, with both beginning trading with USDT pairs on August 21. The tokens were added based on a new requirement from South Korean regulators to complete two years of trading.
