Azuki previews next anime series for NFT fans
Popular anime-inspired NFT series Azuki has announced the release of episode 2 of its Enter the Garden anime anthology series, titled “Fractured Reflections,” a collaboration between producer Goro Taniguchi, director Yukio Takatsu, and Kazuto Nakazawa, the renowned character designer behind the animated sequences in anime series (Chaos Samurai) and (Kill Bill: Volume 1).
According to the Azuki team, the project lays the foundation for future animation projects and is part of the brand's larger strategy to enter the industry. The episode will last approximately 15 minutes and feature returning characters Shao and Raizan from Episode 1.
Stripe acquires Bridge for $1.1 billion to expand web3 payments
Payments giant Stripe has reportedly acquired blockchain infrastructure firm Bridge for $1.1 billion, a move that signals Stripe’s continued interest in web3 payments and a clear desire to help streamline crypto transactions for businesses around the world.
In August 2023, PayPal made headlines by becoming the first fintech platform to launch a stablecoin, PYUSD, and experts believe that Stripe’s new acquisition will accelerate its use of blockchain technology in payment services, helping it keep up with industry trends.
Moonray will be released on PlayStation 5 in 2025
Moonray, a studio focused on AAA melee PvP games, has announced that its flagship Ethereum-based game will debut on PlayStation 5 in 2025. Gamers can find Moonray on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The company is backed by major web3 investors including Animoca Brands and Polygon Ventures, and the studio has also partnered with ReelFX Animation on an upcoming animated series focusing on Moonray’s latest NFT minting, which launched on October 23.
Venmo and Moonpay integration
Payment service company Venmo has integrated with cryptocurrency on-ramp Moonpay, making it easier for Venmo’s reported 60 million users to now purchase cryptocurrencies directly through the app.
The feature is already live and allows users to use their Venmo accounts and balances to purchase various digital currencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, however, MoonPay said that users in New York and Texas cannot yet access the integration.
XCOPY Launches the “Cope Salada” Collection
The digital artist known as XCOPY has released his latest series of work, “Cope Salada,” consisting of 250 unique editions.
The series, which was minted on the new Shape second layer (L2) chain from October 8 to October 14, is described as a “visceral response” to the rapidly evolving digital art world, with XCOPY describing the works as “perfectly rendered, grade-A pieces” that humorously depict the emotional release that art can provide.
“We all have our own universe to explore, and I explore mine by creating self-deprecating art,” XCOPY recently told web3 media outlet nftnow.
Known for his vibrant, glitchy style, XCOPY once again pushes the boundaries of visual storytelling through distorted neon imagery. Quickly capturing collectors’ attention, “Cope Salada” is a fantastic follow-up to the success of his earlier works “MAX PAIN AND FRENS” and “Afterburn.”
Yuga Labs launches Apechain for creators
Yuga Labs, the team behind Bored Ape Yacht Club, has officially launched Apechain, a blockchain platform built for creators. Apechain is reportedly built with artificial intelligence integration at its core, aiming to help developers and artists create, monetize and display their digital content more seamlessly.
According to sources, Yuga Labs plans to expand its ecosystem on Apechain, with the platform reportedly launching the next installment in its upcoming gamified Bored Ape metaverse Otherside and Yuga’s free-to-play endless runner Dookey Dash: Unclogged.
ApeChain officially debuted on October 18 at Yuga Labs’ flagship event, ApeFest, in Lisbon, Portugal.
Avalanche Launches Visa Crypto Card for Everyday Payments
Layer-1 (L1) blockchain Avalanche has launched a new Visa card to help users easily make cryptocurrency payments.
The Avalanche Card is linked to the user’s self-secured wallet, allowing shoppers to easily exchange AVAX tokens and other supported cryptocurrencies for fiat currencies such as the U.S. dollar and check out at any merchant that accepts Visa. Like a typical rewards credit card, the Avalanche Card offers rewards in Avalanche’s native currency, AVAX.
With this move, Avalanche is attempting to bridge the gap between digital products and traditional finance.
Phantom Wallet adds peer-to-peer token sharing functionality
Phantom Wallet, a popular self-custodial crypto wallet built for Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon, has launched a new token sharing feature that allows users to send tokens directly via chat messages on platforms such as text, iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, and more.
The feature, released on October 21, enables seamless token transfers between users without going through external transaction processes such as copying wallet addresses. With this update, Phantom aims to simplify peer-to-peer crypto transactions while continuing to support the rapidly growing Solana ecosystem.
Token sharing is now available to all users on supported blockchains.
OpenSea announces integration with B3 Chain
Yesterday, OpenSea announced the integration of the basic game ecosystem B3 Chain. The addition of B3 will provide game developers and studios with a new place to deploy NFT collections and in-game assets within the OpenSea platform. B3 contributor NPC Labs' mission is to introduce interesting games to the chain while eliminating the entry barriers of cryptocurrencies.
B3 is an open gaming ecosystem that provides game developers with a highly customized game chain, which makes it an ideal ecosystem for expanding and supporting the next wave of on-chain games.
B3 will support Parallel’s highly anticipated shooter game Tau Ceti, which is currently in partnership with GOAT Gaming, Farm Frens, DOT, Anomaly Gaming, Yomi Games, Unplayable Studios and other institutions and projects, and is available on web, mobile, desktop and Telegram platforms.
