Agrotoken and Polygon have announced a partnership that promises to “transform the commodities market with innovative tokenization and blockchain solutions.”
The objective is mainly to promote the integration of more efficient, sustainable and safe systems.
Agrotoken will operate on Polygon's PoS
In practice, Agrotoken's infrastructure will operate on the Polygon Proof of Stake (PoS) network. This will not only bring greater scalability and protection to operations, but mainly new opportunities in decentralized finance (DeFi) and tokenization of real assets (RWA).
With the partnership, Agrotoken also intends to implement the Natural Resources Chain, a knowledge layer based on the Chain Development Kit (CDK), which will enable interoperability between chains. In addition to improving security and agility in transactions.
The goal is to build an ecosystem focused on efficient and transparent asset management, boosting not only farmers' operational performance, but also expanding access to financial and investment opportunities throughout the entire production chain.
This collaboration with Polygon, which uses an EVM-compatible environment, will enable Agrotoken to rapidly launch new products and services, such as the tokenization of commodities such as soybeans and grains, and the development of financing platforms with tokenized assets used as collateral.
The project will enable the development of sustainability certifications with blockchain-based tracking. And all to promote more transparency and accountability in the agricultural sector. It is worth remembering that the sector moves more than 25% of Brazil's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The partnership with Polygon allows us to scale our tokenization infrastructure and offer innovative solutions in the commodities sector, a key area for economic development, explains Agrotoken CEO and co-founder Eduardo Novillo Astrada.
Additionally, Polygon PoS’s scalability, technology and low fees have established it as the go-to destination for tokenization projects in both Web3 and traditional finance, said Brian Trunzo, global head of business development at Polygon Labs.
Innovative use cases like Agrotoken join the Polygon ecosystem first on PoS and then via Polygon CDK to power a more transparent, efficient, and sustainable agriculture industry, all powered by Polygon’s cutting-edge technology.
