storj

Storj aims to be a censorship-resistant, unmonitorable, and downtime-free cloud storage platform. Storj is the first decentralized, end-to-end encrypted cloud storage platform that uses blockchain technology and cryptography to secure your files.

Storj is a decentralized platform, cryptocurrency, and suite of applications that allow you to store your data securely and decentralized. Your files are encrypted, broken into smaller pieces called “shards,” and then stored on a decentralized network of computers around the world. No one but you has a complete copy of your files, even in encrypted form.

Because of this, Storj can be faster, cheaper, and more secure than traditional cloud storage platforms. Faster, because multiple machines are simultaneously serving your files; cheaper, because you are renting someone else’s spare hard drive space instead of paying for a dedicated data center; and more secure, because your files are encrypted and split into pieces. You no longer have to trust your files to a corporation, a vulnerable server, or an employee. Storj completely eliminates the middleman in the process.
