Worldcoin admits that asking for an iris scan was too much. It has already found a new solution to confirm identity

Worldcoin's landing in Spain did not go as expected. The company, driven by Sam Altman, allowed us to obtain tokens in exchange for confirming our identity through an iris scan. But this treatment led to its precautionary blocking by the AEPD, since iris data requires "special protection."

Now, during its first major event in five years, they have explained what steps the company will take. A company that is now simply called World and whose strategy will become less dependent on the iris scan for which they became so famous.

World no longer needs the iris to confirm that it is you. World ID Credentials is the company's new way of confirming identity in its systems. In addition to the iris scan, World will also allow you to register completely without needing to approach one of the Orbs. This change is mainly to aspire to more users, far from the sites where these orbs are, being able to use the application

As they explain, for this cryptographic protocol they have collaborated with the University of Nuremberg and the UC Berkeley Center for Responsible Decentralized Intelligence.

But the main novelty is that the World Foundation and Tools for Humanity will no longer participate in AMPC. That is, they are separating themselves from the management of this anonymized data. To convey independence and at the same time to add an additional layer of complexity regarding the responsibility of each company in the information management process.

Let's hope that over time the price of this crypto has changed thanks for reading
