The first trading session of the week witnessed a strong start for global stock markets amid an improvement in risk appetite with the start of the corporate earnings season and anticipation of Chinese stimulus and the European Central Bank's decision this week, while trading in US Treasury bonds was closed today during the Columbus holiday in the United States.

Speaking today, the US Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis member, Neel Kashkari, said that he sees modest interest rate cuts in the future, adding that he expects higher levels of neutral interest rates, in light of inflation approaching the 2% target.
