Justin Sun was elected Prime Minister of the small country called Liberland!
Today (October 11), Justin Sun (founder of blockchain TRON) was elected Prime Minister of Liberland - a small country that is not currently recognized by the international community.
Liberland was founded by Czech liberal politician Vit JedliÄka on April 13, 2015, in an undisputed region between Croatia and Serbia. The country's area is only about 7 square kilometers.
According to election results from Liberland, Justin Sun has become the prime minister of this small country after receiving the approval of about 100 people.
Additionally, businessman Evan Luthra, journalist Jillian Godsi, former Croatian politician Ivan Pernar and IT expert Dorian Stern VukotiÄ were also elected to the Liberland Parliament alongside Sun.
âThe election process is governed by a simple set of rules and is entirely algorithmic, providing a high level of transparency. We hope to be a pioneering example of what will soon become common practice,â a Liberland spokesperson said in a statement after the election results were announced.
The spokesperson also praised Justin Sun as a highly successful entrepreneur in the Crypto field, and Sun's presence will bring about many major changes in promoting blockchain adoption in this country.
Liberland claims to be a pioneer in the use of blockchain technology in government management. Liberland also claims to be the first country to adopt BTC (Bitcoin) as its official currency (before El Salvador) and that 99% of its national treasury comes from BTC.
The emergence of Liberland reflects the growing desire of Crypto enthusiasts & want to leverage blockchain technology to establish highly decentralized micronations.
Before Liberland, there was a small Crypto nation called Bitnation that declared sovereignty. This event later inspired other jurisdictions to seek independence.
Sharing after becoming Prime Minister of Liberland, Justin Sun said he wanted to make Liberland a center of freedom similar to the Vatican - the center of Christianity.
This is not Justin Sunâs first foray into politics. He previously served as Grenaâs ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO) from 2021 to 2023.
