$ETH IMPROVEMENTS & LAYER 2 DIRECT BENEFITS
Ethereum is discussing a proposal EIP-7781, which focuses on solving the scaling problem on Ethereum and Layer 2 platforms. Some details include:

Block completion time reduced from 12s to only about 8s
This helps the Ethereum network operate 50% faster and more efficiently than it is now. However, it also means that the hardware requirements for Validators will be higher, which can affect the decentralization of the network.
However, Vitalik has recently proposed reducing the minimum amount of ETH to participate in Validators on Ethereum from 36 ETH to 16 - 24 ETH.
If both of these proposals pass, the decentralization problem caused by EIP-7781 will be filled by Vitalik's proposal.
Not only that, Layer 2 Rollup platforms will also reduce latency.
