The little i know about crypto project is,

A lot of people enter the airdrop campaign with greed

They put a lot of effort into completing tasks such as #PTE which is booming now on Telegram.

They expect to make a lot of money if or when the project lists it's token.

They seek to sell the moment it lists.

And trust me the people behind the project don't really want people like that in thier community. So they also take measures to ensure that the community grows instead of crashing.

That's why projects such as #PiNetwork is taking the long route because they want to avoid these problems as much as possible but trust me some are also very patient.

Here are some measures some projects take in oder to avoid these issues

1. Legitimate telegram projects take random snap shots of users who have a significant amount of #airdrop to ensure they are playing fair.

2. They check i addresses to determine if one person is not using more than one account to participate in the airdrop. Another method for flagging cheaters in the #PTE space

3. They check if two or more wallet addresses are connected to one account each in this case to flag scammers as well.

4. Concealing the major aspect for airdrop allocation, in this case setting a cap. for each level or each rank and then later implementing a secret high or the actual aspect of the point allocations.

With projects like $HMSTR they made mention clearly that the hamster ranking was a leader board but not really. They later implemented #Web3Quests which was the key 🔑 system.

What most people missed was that HMSTR rejected #VC_Funding so they relied on games and other aspects to fund the project

So they decided to give more points to players who also made time to play games to earn keys 🔑 which are loaded with periodic ads which they get commission from (i admit it was annoying)

One more thing do not expect a dramatic rise for HMSTR lot of speculations has made the project loose its loyal community.

I did my own research so i didn't expect much from HMSTR i did play the annoying games though.
