On Tuesday (8), Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), authorized the resumption of the activities of the social network X in Brazil.
As with the suspension, the reactivation is not immediate. This is because it depends on the notification of Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) to the internet operators, who are responsible for enabling the reestablishment of the platform.
âI order the end of the suspension and authorize the immediate resumption of the activities of X Brasil Internet Ltda. in the national territory, and it is up to Anatel to take the necessary measures to guarantee the implementation of this decision, with due communication to this Supreme Court within 24 hoursâ, wrote the minister in his ruling.
The decision comes 39 days after the suspension of X in Brazil (on August 30). In addition, the company informed the STF of the full payment of the fines resulting from non-compliance with court decisions and Brazilian regulations.
The platform, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, said it had paid approximately R$$ 28.6 million in fines imposed by the Supreme Court.
