I am a kindergarten teacher and I have a boyfriend who is a policeman. We are planning to get married. Then one day I wore a short skirt and he noticed the small tattoo on my arm and asked me what it was. I said it was a small flower and he said it was nice. I didn't care. But a few days later, he suddenly told me that his family had some opinions about my tattoo. I was stunned at the time.

Li Meng (pseudonym) is a 28-year-old kindergarten teacher. A year ago, Li Meng met Wang Lei (pseudonym), a 30-year-old policeman, through a friend. The two fell in love quickly and got along well. Wang Lei is sunny and upright, and Li Meng is gentle and considerate. They seem to be a match made in heaven.

"We got along very well," Li Meng recalled, with a happy light in her eyes. "We have common interests and hobbies, and we both like children. We even started talking about getting married."

However, just as they were about to enter the next stage of their lives, an unexpected problem arose.

It was a warm spring day, and Li Meng wore a knee-length skirt, revealing her slender arms. Wang Lei suddenly noticed a small tattoo on her arm.

"What is that?" Wang Lei asked curiously.

"Oh, this one," Li Meng said with a smile, "It's a small flower. I got it when I was in college. It's pretty, right?"

Wang Lei nodded, said "pretty good", and said nothing more. Li Meng didn't think much about it and continued to enjoy this beautiful day.

However, a few days later, Wang Lei suddenly found Li Meng with a serious face.

"Mengmeng, I have something to tell you," Wang Lei hesitated, "I told my parents about the tattoo on your arm, and they... they have some opinions about it."

Li Meng was stunned. "What opinions?" she asked puzzled.

Wang Lei explained that his parents thought that it seemed inappropriate for a kindergarten teacher to have a tattoo. They were worried that it would give people a bad impression and might affect Li Meng's work and their future life.

"But it's just a small flower," Li Meng said, confused and hurt, "and it's usually covered by clothes, so you can't see it at all."

But Wang Lei's parents don't seem to think so. In their minds, tattoos are not serious, especially for a girl.
