Pavel Durov announced that a limited number of gifts will be converted into NFTs on the TON blockchain later this year. Users will be able to trade them outside of Telegram.
On October 5, Telegram introduced a new feature for sending gifts for stars (Telegram Stars) — the messenger's internal currency. They look like animated images to which you can add a message. For example, write a congratulation on a holiday or an important event.
The received gift can be added to the profile, where other users will see it, or exchanged for stars. They can be spent in Telegram, including congratulating other people, donating to channel owners, or paying in mini-apps.
When sending a gift, you can hide your name. In this case, the recipient will know who congratulated him, but other users will not.
Developers can list their stars through the Fragment platform using TON.
Let us recall that in April, during the Token2049 conference, Durov announced the possibility of purchasing digital goods for cryptocurrency in Telegram.
